Connect Shopify and Cross-List

If you run a Shopify store and hold periodic sales (auctions, consignment events, pop-ups), you can sync inventory between Shopify and FindA.Sale. List items once, and they appear in both places. When something sells in your store, it's marked sold in the sale, and vice versa. This guide covers how to connect Shopify, which items to cross-list, and how to manage inventory across both platforms.

How it works

**1. Connect your Shopify account** Go to FindA.Sale integrations and select "Shopify." Tap "Connect Shopify Account." You'll log into Shopify and authorize FindA.Sale to access your products and inventory.

**2. Choose which products to cross-list** Not every Shopify product makes sense in a FindA.Sale event. You'll select:

  • Clearance or overstock items you want to move fast
  • Seasonal items (holiday décor, summer apparel)
  • One-of-a-kind or consignment items (handmade, vintage)

Skip:

  • Digital products (they don't work in a physical sale)
  • Subscription items
  • Gift cards

**3. Map prices and inventory** For each product you're cross-listing:

  • Set the price it'll show in the FindA.Sale sale (can be different from Shopify)
  • Choose how much inventory to include (all stock, or just the overstock)

**4. Items appear in both places** Once synced, your product appears:

  • On Shopify.com with its Shopify price and full description
  • On FindA.Sale with the cross-listed price and details you specified

**5. Inventory syncs in real time**

  • Item sells on Shopify (customer buys on your store) → FindA.Sale shows it sold
  • Item sells on FindA.Sale (shopper buys at your event) → Shopify inventory decreases

Both platforms stay in sync automatically.

**6. Monitor sales across both** Your dashboard shows sales from Shopify and FindA.Sale separately so you can see which channel performed better.

When to use this

Great for:

  • Overstock clearance (you want items gone fast)
  • Seasonal items that need to move by a deadline
  • One-of-a-kind resale (you source an item, list once, sell to the best customer)
  • Multi-channel sellers who want centralized inventory

Skip if:

  • You're running a small local sale (Shopify shoppers are nationwide/international; FindA.Sale shoppers are local)
  • You want to keep Shopify and physical inventory completely separate
  • Your items are very location-specific (e.g., "Only for pickup in Memphis")

Setup step by step

**Step 1: Choose your products** Go to your FindA.Sale sale and tap "Integrations." Select "Shopify." The app shows your Shopify products. Check the boxes next to items you want to cross-list.

**Step 2: Set cross-list details** For each product:

  • Confirm the title and description (can be the same as Shopify, or customize for the sale)
  • Set the FindA.Sale price (Example: Shopify price is $50, you mark it down to $35 for quick clearance)
  • Choose inventory: "All stock," "50 units," "Overstock only," etc.
  • Optionally add sale-specific details ("Available at our Memphis event only," "Limited quantity")

**Step 3: Sync** Tap "Confirm and Sync." FindA.Sale creates a connection between your Shopify product and the FindA.Sale listing. They're now linked.

**Step 4: Monitor** During the sale, check your dashboard occasionally. You'll see:

  • How many sold on FindA.Sale
  • How many sold on Shopify
  • Real-time inventory levels

Pricing strategy

Same price: Easy. Item costs $50 on Shopify, costs $50 on FindA.Sale. Shoppers expect consistency.

Discounted on FindA.Sale: Create urgency. Overstock costs $50 on Shopify, but you're selling it for $35 at your estate sale. This works if you're trying to clear stock fast or if you're targeting deal-hunters at events.

Premium at events: Rare. You might ask more if it's a collectors' event and you expect higher-end buyers. Usually, events = discounts.

Common questions

Do I need a Shopify store to use FindA.Sale?

No. This guide is for organizers who have both. If you only run physical sales, you don't need Shopify.

What happens to the Shopify product after the FindA.Sale event ends?

It stays on Shopify. If inventory ran out during the event, Shopify shows "Out of stock." You can restock or remove the listing anytime.

Can I unlink a product after syncing?

Yes. If you want to stop cross-listing, go to the product and tap "Unlink from Shopify." The inventory goes back to Shopify only.

What if inventory gets out of sync?

It happens rarely, but if it does, you can manually adjust inventory in either platform and resync. FindA.Sale will catch up within a few minutes.

Can I use this with other sales channels (Amazon, Poshmark, Etsy)?

Not yet. FindA.Sale currently integrates with Shopify only. eBay integration is separate (see the eBay guide).

Do I pay extra for Shopify sync?

No. It's included with your FindA.Sale tier (included on SIMPLE, PRO, and TEAMS).

What if a customer on Shopify initiates a return?

That's a Shopify issue between you and the customer. FindA.Sale doesn't manage Shopify refunds. Handle it in Shopify as usual.

Can I set different shipping costs for Shopify vs. FindA.Sale?

Yes. Shopify has its own shipping rules. FindA.Sale doesn't manage shipping—you do at checkout or in your terms.
