Editing a Listing After It's Already Live
Once a listing is published, you can still change almost anything. Correct a typo, add a photo, adjust the price, or improve the description without taking the listing down.
What you can edit
- **Item name** — Fix a typo or add more detail
- **Price** — Raise or lower at any time
- **Category or tags** — Improve searchability
- **Condition grade** — If you spot damage later
- **Details/description** — Add notes about condition, care, or features
- **Photos** — Retake a photo, add more angles, or rearrange the order
What you can't edit
- **Listing type** — If it's an auction, you can't change it to a fixed-price sale mid-auction
- **Sale event** (if linked) — You can't move a listing to a different sale or event after it's live
How to edit a live listing
- On your dashboard, tap "My Listings."
- Find the listing you want to edit.
- Tap it to open the detail view.
- Tap "Edit" or the pencil icon.
- Change the field you want to update.
- Tap "Save."
The listing updates immediately. Shoppers see the new info right away.
Common edits
You noticed a typo: "Wooded dresser" should be "Wooden dresser." Edit the name and save.
The price isn't moving: Lower it by 10–15% to spark interest. Edit the price and save.
You took more photos: In the edit view, tap "Add photos" to upload more angles.
The description needs clarification: Add a detail: "One leg is slightly loose but can be tightened with a wrench" or "The finish has normal wear for its age."
Shoppers keep asking about the same thing: If three people ask "What size is this?", add the size to the name or details so future shoppers see it: "Dresser, 42 inches wide, 36 inches tall."
You underestimated demand: If you're getting multiple offers, raise the price. If it's an auction, raising the starting bid won't affect current bids, but you can note a higher reserve if one exists.
Before and after editing
Once you edit a listing, shoppers see the updated info. If you've already gotten inquiries or bids, make sure your edit is accurate. Changing a price or condition after someone has placed a bid might cause disputes.
