The Ripples Page: See Who's Talking About Your Sale
The Ripples page shows you everything shoppers are saying about your sale: haul posts, reviews, social media mentions, crew discussions, and bounty requests. It's your window into the community conversation around your sale.
What ripples are
A ripple is any public mention of your sale from a shopper:
- **Haul posts.** Shoppers posting photos of items they bought at your sale.
- **Reviews.** Ratings and written feedback after they attended.
- **Social media mentions.** Posts tagged with your sale or location (if public).
- **Crew discussions.** Crew members chatting about your sale in their group chat (if they made it public).
- **Bounty requests.** Shoppers posting bounties for items they found at your sale.
- **Comments.** Shoppers answering questions about your sale in threads or reviews.
Accessing Ripples
From your organizer dashboard:
- Go to a specific sale
- Click "Ripples" tab
You'll see a chronological feed of all mentions from that sale.
Historical ripples: After a sale ends, ripples stay on the page permanently. You can review feedback months later.
What ripples tell you
**What shoppers loved.** Haul posts highlight the items that excited your customers. If 10 people posted about your vintage furniture collection, you know that's your strength.
**What sold well.** Popular items get mentioned more. If every haul post includes a specific chair, people were buying chairs.
**What shoppers disliked.** Negative reviews and critical comments appear here too. You can see what didn't work.
**Your reputation in action.** Positive ripples build your reputation. Shoppers tell other shoppers "This was a great sale." That word-of-mouth is visible in Ripples.
**Inventory insights.** If shoppers are bounty-requesting "1970s lamps" from your sale, you know that category was popular and buyers want more.
Using ripples to improve
**Identify strengths.** If most hauls and comments are about vintage furniture, focus future sales on curating great furniture.
**Spot gaps.** If shoppers kept asking "Do you have any kitchen gadgets?" and you didn't, maybe add that category next time.
**Understand demand.** Bounty requests show what shoppers wish you'd had. "I found a dresser but was looking for nightstands" tells you there's demand for nightstands.
**Celebrate wins.** A haul post of someone thrilled with their find is a win. Screenshot it, celebrate your organizer team, use it in promotions.
**Improve weak areas.** If a review says "furniture was overpriced," you know pricing was an issue. Adjust next time.
Responding to ripples
**You can respond to reviews.** If someone left feedback, you can reply publicly. Explain, thank them, or offer a remedy.
**You can like and react to haul posts.** A heart or comment on a shopper's haul shows appreciation. It builds relationship.
**You can comment on discussion threads.** If a crew is discussing your sale publicly, you can chime in: answer questions, correct misinformation, thank them.
Keep responses professional and brief. The goal is to show you care and engage authentically.
Privacy in Ripples
Public ripples (haul posts, reviews, public comments) appear. Private ripples (private crew messages, DMs) don't.
Shoppers can make haul posts private or delete them. If they do, the ripple disappears from your Ripples page.
Ripple notifications
Optional alerts: You can choose to get notified when:
- A haul post mentions your sale
- A review is posted
- A social media mention happens
Toggle these on or off from your notification settings. Many organizers turn on notifications so they see feedback real-time.
Using ripples for marketing
**Share haul posts.** If a shopper posted a great haul from your sale, ask permission to repost on your social media. "Sarah found this gorgeous dresser at our sale! πΈ" is authentic marketing.
**Build case studies.** Positive ripples are proof. "Last month, shoppers found 500+ items at our estate sale" or "Check out what our customers discovered" β ripples provide evidence.
**Learn seasonal patterns.** Save ripples from past sales. Next year, you'll know what to expect in terms of demand, pricing reactions, and inventory focus.
Ripples and reputation building
Your Ripples page is a portfolio of your sales. Prospective shoppers can click through and see:
- What you sell
- What shoppers say about you
- How engaged you are (do you respond to feedback?)
A rich, active Ripples page builds credibility and attracts more shoppers.
Managing negative ripples
Critical reviews: Read them carefully. Is there legitimate feedback? Respond professionally. If it's unfair, explain calmly.
Negative haul posts: Sometimes a shopper posts a haul with critique ("This dresser was overpriced for its condition"). Don't argue. If it's factual, learn from it. If it's unfair, let it pass.
Disputes mentioned publicly: If a shopper discusses a dispute in their haul post or comment, don't respond there. DM them privately to work it out.
Responding defensively makes things worse. Acknowledging feedback and improving makes things better.
