Create or join a Crew

For ShoppersWritten guide

A Crew is a private group of shoppers — up to 10 people — who go to sales together. Members share a feed of each other's saves, holds, and haul posts, and can coordinate in a group chat without posting anything publicly. If you shop with the same two or three people regularly, a Crew keeps everyone on the same page without a group text thread falling apart.

---

What a Crew is for

Sales move fast. If your friend spotted a piece of furniture and you're across town, knowing about it in time matters. A Crew gives you a private space to:

  • See what sales your group members are watching.
  • Share a find before you post it publicly.
  • Coordinate who's going where on a busy sale weekend.
  • Keep your deal-scouting between people you trust, not the whole community feed.

Crews are not public. Nothing in the Crew feed is visible to people outside the group. Members control what they post to the Crew versus to the public feed.

---

How to create a Crew

  1. Go to [/shopper/crews](/shopper/crews).
  2. Tap **New Crew**.
  3. Enter a name for the Crew. Keep it something your group will recognize — it doesn't have to be clever.
  4. Tap **Create**.
  5. From the Crew page, tap **Invite** to add members.

You can invite people two ways: by their FindA.Sale username, or by sharing an invite link. The invite link works once — the first person who opens it gets added, and the link expires. Generate a new link for each additional member.

You're the Crew owner. You can rename the Crew, remove members, and disband it from the Crew settings page.

---

How to join a Crew

**Via invite link:** Someone in the Crew sends you a link. Tap it while signed in to FindA.Sale and you're added automatically.

**Via search:** Go to [/shopper/crews](/shopper/crews) and tap **Find a Crew**. Search by the exact Crew name. If it comes up, tap **Request to Join**. The Crew owner approves or declines.

You can be in up to three Crews at once. If you're already in three and want to join a new one, you'll need to leave one first.

What the Crew feed shows

The Crew feed is a shared activity stream. When a Crew member does any of the following, it shows up in the feed:

  • Saves a sale to their watchlist.
  • Places a hold on an item.
  • Posts a haul (public haul posts from members show up in the Crew feed automatically).
  • Manually shares a sale or item directly to the Crew.

The feed is read-only — you can react to entries with a quick emoji, or tap into the group chat to discuss. The group chat is a simple text thread, no media attachments.

Nothing in the Crew feed posts to the public. If a member saves a sale, that save is private to them — it only surfaces in the Crew feed so the group can see it.

Crews and XP

Crews have one XP mechanic: the referral bonus.

If a Crew member shares a sale directly to the Crew chat, and another member visits that sale and makes a purchase, both the member who shared and the member who purchased earn a small XP bonus. This fires once per sale per pair of members — not once per item.

Check [/shopper/guild-primer](/shopper/guild-primer) for the current bonus amount. It's a small reward, not a farming mechanic — you won't accelerate your rank significantly through referrals alone.

---

How to leave a Crew

  1. Go to [/shopper/crews](/shopper/crews).
  2. Tap the Crew you want to leave.
  3. Tap **Settings** (gear icon, top right).
  4. Tap **Leave Crew**.
  5. Confirm.

You leave immediately. The Crew owner is not notified by default, but your activity will stop showing in the Crew feed.

If you are the Crew owner and you leave, ownership transfers to the longest-standing member. If you want to disband the Crew entirely instead of transferring it, tap **Disband Crew** from the same Settings screen.

Common questions

**Is my Crew activity visible to people outside the Crew?** No. Saves, holds, and messages you post inside the Crew are private to members. Your public haul posts do appear in the Crew feed, but that's a copy of something already public — it doesn't expose anything additional.

**Can I have more than one Crew?** You can be a member of up to three Crews simultaneously. You can also create a Crew and be a member of two others — the create-versus-join distinction doesn't matter for the cap.

**What if someone in my Crew is sharing information I don't want shared?** The Crew owner can remove any member at any time from the Crew settings page. If you're not the owner, you can report a member through their profile page.

**Do organizers know I'm in a Crew?** No. Organizers can see your public haul posts and reviews, but Crew membership is private.

**Can a Crew have more than 10 members?** Not at this time. Ten is the current cap. If your group is larger, you'd need to split into multiple Crews.

**Can I use a Crew to coordinate group buying or splitting lots?** You can discuss it in the group chat — that's up to you and your group. FindA.Sale doesn't have a built-in group-purchase feature at this time. Coordinating through the chat and then each person placing their own hold is the current pattern.
