# Find Sales Near You: Map, Search, and Calendar
Looking for a yard sale, auction, or consignment haul this weekend? FindA.Sale shows you everything happening within your radius — then filters by what you actually want. There are three ways to find sales: the map, the search bar, and the calendar.

Three ways to find sales
1. The map
Tap the map pin icon on the homepage. You'll see colored pins scattered across your area — each one is an active or upcoming sale.
Drag the map to pan. Pinch to zoom in on a neighborhood. Tap any pin to see the sale name, type, address, and opening date. Tap again to open the full listing.
2. The search bar
Type a city name, zip code, or neighborhood. Results appear instantly — sales sorted by distance from that location.
Use this when you're searching a specific area instead of "near me." Good for road trips or checking what's happening in a town you're visiting.
3. The calendar view
Tap "Calendar" at the top of the search screen. You'll see a week grid. Days with sales show a colored dot.
Tap a day to see all sales starting on that date. Useful for planning a Saturday route before the weekend gets here.

Filters
Once you're looking at the map or list, tap "Filter" to narrow things down:
- Sale type — Yard sale, estate sale, auction, flea market, consignment, or any combination.
- Date range — Only show sales that start (or are still running) within a date window.
- Distance — Set a radius in miles from your current location.
Filters stay set until you clear them. If the list looks empty, check your filters first.

Saved searches and alerts
Type a search you run often — like "Grand Rapids yard sales" — then tap the bell icon. The app will notify you when a new sale matches that search and gets posted.
You can manage your saved searches in your profile under Settings > Saved Searches. Delete or pause any alert at any time.

"Active now" vs. "Upcoming"
Sales can show up before they start. That's intentional — organizers post early so you can plan ahead.
Active now means the sale is open today. Show up and shop.
Upcoming means the sale has been posted but hasn't started yet. You can browse its item listings, save it to your wishlist, and set a reminder. You can't buy or hold anything until it goes active.

Common questions
Q: How far away does "near me" search? The default is 25 miles. Change it any time by tapping Filter and adjusting the distance slider.
Q: I'm traveling. Can I search a different location? Tap the location icon at the top and type a city or zip code. The map recenters on that spot.
Q: Why does the map show a sale that isn't open yet? Organizers post in advance. If it says Upcoming, it hasn't started. Tap into it to see the start date.
Q: Can I filter by price range on the map? Not on the map itself. Open a sale's detail page and use the item filter there to search by price.
