All guides

See an item online you love but the sale isn't until next Saturday? Place a hold. The organizer sets it aside, and you come pick it up during the sale. No payment yet—just a reservation.

How it works

  1. **Find an item** — Browse a sale and find something you want.
  2. **Tap "Place Hold"** — The button is on the item card or item detail page.
  3. **Organizer decides** — The organizer reviews your hold request and accepts or declines within 24 hours. You'll get a notification.
  4. **Check the hold duration** — Once accepted, the organizer sets a hold time (usually 24–72 hours from the sale start). The clock starts when the sale opens.
  5. **Show up and pay** — During the hold period, go to the sale and pick up your item. Pay the organizer in person (cash, card, or their payment method).
  6. **Extend or cancel** — If you need more time, message the organizer before the hold expires. If you change your mind, tap "Cancel Hold" to release it.

Important: holds aren't purchases

A hold is a reservation, not a purchase. Until you pay in person, the item is not yours. If the hold expires without you picking it up, the organizer can sell it to someone else. That's why they set a time limit.

Common questions

Do I have to pay when I place a hold?

No. You only pay when you pick up the item during the sale. Holds are free reservations.

What if the organizer declines my hold?

They might decline if they're not comfortable holding it, or they already have many holds. You can place a hold on another item or message the organizer to ask why.

How long can an organizer hold an item?

That's up to them, but most holds last 24–72 hours from when the sale opens. The exact window is shown when your hold is accepted.

What if I can't show up during the hold period?

Message the organizer before the hold expires and ask to extend it. They might say yes or suggest a different time. Don't no-show—organizers remember.

Can I cancel a hold?

Yes, anytime before it expires. Tap "Cancel Hold" on the item. The organizer can then sell it to someone else.

What if the item sells to someone else while my hold is pending?

If the sale is live and an organizer marks an item sold, it's no longer available. Your hold request will be automatically cancelled and you'll be notified.

Can I place multiple holds at one sale?

Yes, but respect the organizer's time. If you place 10 holds and don't show up for most of them, they might decline your future holds.

Do I need to message the organizer when I place a hold?

Not required, but it's a good idea. A quick message like "Excited to grab this—see you Saturday!" builds goodwill.

Tips

  • **Place holds early** — Place holds as soon as the sale lists items, not the morning of.
  • **Plan your travel** — Know the sale hours and plan to arrive during your hold window. Don't rely on showing up the next day.
  • **Be respectful** — Organizers do this in their spare time. If you can't make it, tell them early so they can sell to someone else.
