"Loot Log: Track Everything You've Bought"
Every item you buy at a sale—whether you pay in person or through FindA.Sale—gets logged in your Loot Log. It's your personal history, your budget tracker, and your collection inventory all in one place.
How it works
- **Browse your history** — Tap your profile > Loot Log. You'll see all purchases, sorted by date (newest first).
- **See the details** — For each item: the sale name, item, price paid, date bought, condition grade, and organizer.
- **Filter by date** — Use the date picker to see purchases from a specific week, month, or year.
- **Filter by type** — See only purchases from yard sales, consignment, auctions, or flea markets.
- **Search by item** — Search "dresser" or "vintage" to find items you've bought before.
- **View total spent** — The top of the page shows your total spending this week, month, or year.
- **Add a note** — Tap an item and add a personal note: "Refinished it dark walnut" or "Sold for $200 on eBay." Great for tracking resale or DIY projects.
- **Mark as sold** — If you resell something, mark it as sold. The app tracks your profit or loss.
Why use the Loot Log
**Budget tracking** — See how much you've spent and on what. Set monthly goals and stay accountable.
**Collection building** — If you're collecting a set of dishes or vintage toys, the Loot Log shows what you have and what you're still hunting for.
**Resale tracking** — Bought it for $20, sold it for $85. The app does the math for you. Perfect if you flip finds for profit.
**Tax records** — If you sell items, keep the Loot Log for your records. It's a clean receipt.
**Nostalgia** — Scroll through and remember the hunts, the finds, the steals you scored.
Common questions
Does my Loot Log include items I paid for in cash at a sale?
Only if you log them manually. Items paid through FindA.Sale (pay requests, auctions) are automatic. For cash purchases, you can add them yourself by tapping "Add Purchase."
Can I export my Loot Log?
Not yet, but you can screenshot your monthly summary or email a report to yourself.
Can I share my Loot Log with someone?
Not the whole log, but you can screenshot individual items or your total stats and share them.
Does my Loot Log show my resale prices?
Only if you mark an item as sold and enter the price. That information is private to you.
Can I delete items from my Loot Log?
Yes. Tap an item and select "Remove from Loot Log." It disappears from your history (but you can't recover it after deletion).
Is my Loot Log visible to other shoppers?
No. It's completely private. Other shoppers can see your public profile and feedback, but not your purchases.
What if I bought something at a sale but don't remember the price?
Check your receipts or messages with the organizer. If it was a cash transaction and you can't recall, just estimate. The Loot Log is for your reference, not tax audits (unless you're running a resale business).
Can I mark something as "traded" instead of sold?
Not directly in the Loot Log, but when you complete a trade, the traded item is noted in your Trades history separately.
How far back does the Loot Log go?
All the way to your first purchase. You can scroll back years.
Can I add notes about shipping or condition issues?
Yes. Tap an item, scroll down to "Notes," and add whatever you want. It's your inventory.
Tips
- **Log immediately after buying** — Don't wait. Fresh data is easier to remember accurately.
- **Add notes about condition** — If an item had a hidden flaw or needed repair, note it. Useful if you're tracking quality from a specific organizer.
- **Track your monthly average** — The Loot Log shows stats. Use it to set a budget and see if you're staying on track.
- **Check before you buy again** — Before placing a hold on an item, search your Loot Log. You might already own one.
