The Ripples page: see who's talking about your sale

For OrganizersWritten guide

When shoppers share your sale, post haul photos, or promote your listing through the FindA.Sale share flow, that activity shows up in one place: the Ripples page. It is a live feed of public attention around your sale.

---

What Ripples is

Ripples collects public activity tied to your sale:

  • Shoppers who used the FindA.Sale share button to post your sale to social platforms
  • Haul posts that mention your sale or tag items from it
  • Shares made through the built-in promote flow

It is not a full social media monitor. It only captures activity that runs through FindA.Sale's own share and promote tools, or haul posts submitted directly through the app. Private shares — texts, direct messages, emails someone forwarded — do not appear here.

Think of it as the part of your word-of-mouth that is visible.

---

How to open it

Go to [/organizer/ripples](/organizer/ripples), or tap the Ripples link inside your sale dashboard.

If your sale has gotten recent activity, you may also see a dashboard notification — "Your sale is getting attention" — with a direct link.

---

What you will see

Ripples displays a chronological feed. Each entry shows:

  • The platform the share went to (Facebook, Instagram, etc.) or the type of activity (haul post, promote share)
  • A snippet of the content where available — the caption they wrote, or the haul post text
  • Share count or reach estimate where the platform provides it

Entries are sorted with the most recent at the top. Activity from older sales stays visible for 60 days after close.

---

What to do with it

**Identify which platform is moving your sales.** If you see a concentration of shares from Nextdoor that coincides with a spike in holds, that tells you where your audience lives. Lean into that platform for your next promotion.

**Find haul posts worth sharing.** A shopper who posts a great haul photo is doing your marketing for you. With their permission, sharing that post to your own social accounts is more effective than anything you could write yourself. Ripples makes those posts easy to find.

**Send a thank-you discount.** If you can identify a shopper who shared your sale and drove visible traffic, consider sending them a discount code for their next purchase. It costs you little and turns a one-time sharer into a repeat advocate. You can do this from the shopper's hold or purchase record — find them in your sale's transaction list and send a code from there.

**Spot emerging interest before the sale opens.** If shares are climbing while your sale is still in pre-sale mode, you may want to add more inventory photos or bump your hold limit to capture the demand.

---

What Ripples does not track

  • Private messages (SMS, DMs on any platform, email)
  • Shares made by copying your URL directly without using the FindA.Sale share button
  • Organic social posts that mention your sale without going through the platform
  • Print or offline mentions

This means Ripples shows you a subset of your real-world reach. The actual number of people talking about your sale is almost certainly higher. Ripples is the visible part of the iceberg.

Common questions

**Can shoppers see the Ripples page?** No. It is only visible to the organizer who runs the sale.

**Does Ripples update in real time?** It updates within a few minutes of activity. You do not need to refresh manually — the feed pulls fresh data each time you open the page.

**Can I download the Ripples data?** Not currently. You can screenshot entries or note them manually. Export functionality may be added in a future update.

**What if I see something in Ripples that looks inaccurate or that I want removed?** Content in Ripples reflects what shoppers posted publicly through FindA.Sale tools. If a haul post or share contains something that violates platform rules, use the flag option on the entry. If something looks like a data error, contact FindA.Sale support.

**Does Ripples work for all sale types?** Yes — yard sales, flea markets, auctions, consignment sales, permanent storefronts. Any sale type that can be shared through the platform generates Ripples data.
